Hanoi, June 13, 2024 – VinAI, one of the top 20 AI R&D labs worldwide, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) on Thursday to advance AI training among Vietnamese students.

Under the agreement, VinAI will assist PTIT in accelerating AI research and developing curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The MoU also provides PTIT students with access to selected seminars, workshops, and internship opportunities at VinAI’s headquarters.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, Dr. Hung Bui, CEO of VinAI, emphasized, “We are delighted to collaborate with PTIT to power AI education in Vietnam. We believe participating in initiatives like internships and seminars will give PTIT students a better understanding of AI research and hands-on experience in AI applications.”

Prof. Dr. Phuong Tu, Chairman of PTIT’s Council, highlighted that partnering with VinAI will add a practical edge to PTIT’s training programs, allowing students to gain real-world business experience during their studies, better preparing them for employment after graduation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cuong Pham, Vice Dean of the IT Faculty and Head of the AI Lab at PTIT, mentioned that PTIT’s AI specialization, which falls within the High-Quality IT Engineering Program, has shown great promise with the first batch of 29 students and over 600 IT graduates expected by March 2025. The partnership with VinAI is anticipated to help PTIT build a high-quality talent pool that meets the growing industry demand for AI professionals.

VinAI has always been dedicated to nurturing AI talents in Vietnam and the region, as evident in the pioneering AI Residency Program, which provides intensive training and mentorship to aspiring young AI talents. Strategic collaborations, like the recent one with PTIT, further underscore the company’s educational excellence and its role in advancing AI education and research in Vietnam.
