VinAI Wins “Smart Parking Innovation of the Year” For Touch2Park In 2024 AutoTech Breakthrough Awards Program

Hanoi, October 22th, 2024 – VinAI, one of the top 20 AI R&D companies worldwide, today announced that their smart parking feature, Touch2Park has been selected as “Smart Parking Innovation of the Year” in the fifth annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards program, which recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global automotive and transportation technology markets. This recognition underscores the VinAI’s ability to address the challenges faced by both automakers and drivers in the evolving AI-defined vehicle era.   

OEMs are facing increasing pressure to incorporate advanced AI technologies into their vehicles to improve driver and passenger experiences. At the forefront of these expectations is the everyday challenge of parking – a universal task performed by billions globally, yet often fraught with stress and inefficiency.

Indeed, Touch2Park utilizes only four fish-eye cameras along with VinAI’s cutting-edge machine learning algorithm to provide a comprehensive 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings during parking maneuvers. Then, drivers can choose their preferred parking space simply by touching the screen. Touch2Park’s precision in object detection is also impressive – it can track objects 0 cm from the vehicle’s sides and 5 to 10 cm from the front and back. Additionally, thanks to a unified multi-task neural network for the perception module, the system can adeptly handle various parking scenarios, including parallel, perpendicular, and angled parking, and diverse environmental conditions, such as crowded urban areas or poorly lit environments.  

As one of the few winners in the Smart Parking category, Touch2Park has been lauded for its innovation and efficiency.

Touch2Park is part of VinAI’s SurroundSense product suite, which includes the 360-degree Advanced Surround View Monitoring systems, smart parking features, and more.
